Drawing – Eastbound

One rather knowledgeable person once said that ancient Chinese travelers crafted scarecrow-like figures with a magnet fastened to one arm, and used as compasses. I haven’t found any information about it anywhere, but I find the idea inspiring.
The concept of using a lantern to steer a giant molluskoid pack animal is mine, though, and I’m rather proud of it.
